DaniLeigh does it all on “MOVIE.”

HONORABLE MENTION. DIAMONDS ON ME

DaniLeigh plays Gunna better than Gunna plays Gunna on “Diamonds On Me!”

“Diamonds On Me” slaps harder than my mama! The song features wavy flows, slimy lyrics, and a hypnotizing trap beat. While Gunna and Yella Beezy sound like they are in their element on the song, I have to admit, the rap performance that DaniLeigh puts up steals the show.

5. LEVI HIGH

“Levi High” features DaBaby (Awwwwkwardddddddd).

“Levi High” is a sly, infectious, trill, and quirky banger. Throughout the song, DaniLeigh swears by her bangin’ body, while DaBaby swears by his ability to smash a chick with a bangin’ body. When you combine the two sounds together, what you end up with is something the hardest of women and softest of men can appreciate.

4. MONIQUE

DaniLeigh spits impressive bars on “Monique.”

Yea, yea, yea, DaniLeigh is a phenomenal singer, but what about her rapping skills, though? On “Monique,” DaniLeigh hits us with flows that would make Gunna proud and trill-ass lyrics that would make Young Thug proud.

Somebody needs to tell DaniLeigh that Monique isn’t big anymore, so when you say that your pockets are on “Monique,” that isn’t that impressive anymore…

3. MISTREATED

DaniLeigh and Queen Naija have had enough of you dusty-ass dudes!

In my humbling opinion, DaniLeigh and Queen Naija are two musicians that are grossly underrated. Not only are they both solid singers, but I also love how comfortable they are in their own skin. On “Mistreated,” Naija and Dani join forces for a ‘f**k my ex’ banger that features a beat that will make you snap your fingers, vocal performances that will give you chills, and lyrics that will make you want to kick your ex to the curb like they were the second coming of DJ Jazzy Jeff.

2. PUT U ON

“Put U On” is a song that people with impeccable hips will like.

“Put U On” promotes dirty dancing. Matter of fact, if you know if a club you’re planning on going to is going to play the song, call ahead to see if you can bring a desk chair there.

“Put U On” features a silky smooth beat, sexy lyrics, and velvety melodies.

1. SITUATIONS

For those of you that slept on DaniLeigh’s singing skills, her performance on “Situations” will wake your ass up!

“Situations” is a smooth R&B banger that features intoxicating melodies, lyrics centered around the beauties of true love, and an instrumental that will ease your nerves.

Don’t you love it when R&B stars sound vulnerable in their music? To me, it shows that they are human beings, even though they have millions of Instagram followers.

OVERALL RATING

(B)

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know that DaniLeigh was such a versatile artist! On MOVIE, she blesses us with the slowest of slow jams, the slimiest of slimy bangers, and the clubbiest of club records.

As a singer, there aren’t many notes that DaniLeigh cannot reach. She is also someone that can make a melody poke out like Nicki Minaj’s booty at a retirement home. As a rapper, DaniLeigh is outstanding at hitting us with unbreakable flows and ballerific lyrics. The way she switches between the two styles on MOVIE impressed the hell out of me.

I love the topics that DaniLeigh covers on MOVIE. She doesn’t only talk about her romantic relationships, she also talks about swerving dudes, self-love, and putting it down in the bedroom. In other words, Dani finds a way to make major use of that little gap between love and heartbreak on MOVIE.

I think it is time that we start to acknowledge that DaniLeigh is the truth.
