Ryan D. Neely is a producer that is impossible to hate.

Former rapper turned producer, Ryan D. Neely, creates tracks with a quality over quantity mindset. The Louisville, Kentucky native started producing at only 17 years old, expanding and developing a wider range of skills to build and improve upon his already impressive start. “Pause and Look” comes from Neely’s recent self-titled album, which also happens to be his first that’s purely beats. The well-crafted track shows off Neely’s talent with well-timed transitions and flips that make it clear that he’s no amateur.

On “Pause and Look,” Neely starts out with 80s vibes, utilizing some vocal samples and eventually switching things up to a modern tone. His go-to drum sounds for his beats come from hip hop influences introduced to him by DJ K-Razor. According to a recent interview, while Neely enjoys hip-hop, his first and strongest genre influence is pop, with New Edition and Michael Jackson being some of his favorite musical acts during his teen years. Neely enjoys being able to follow his passion for music and hopes his work is an inspiration and reminder to not lose sight of your goals. “Pause and Look” certainly makes the argument for hard work and dedication paying off.
