“Timing” is a very enjoyable blast to the past.

Toronto native Kinkade (aka Kinkade Davis) is an emcee and producer with an uber unique style. According to a recent interview for a track off his latest EP, Risk It for the Biscuit, Kinkade finds creative influence not just in inspirational artists like J. Cole, Nas, and Biggie, but also in eras, as evident in his fun ultra 90’s aesthetic music video for his single “Timing” which released last year.

Though you can also find Kinkade’s playfully fun track on other major streaming services, it’s best heard or rather seen on YouTube for the full throwback experience. It’s an immediate trip back down memory lane with VHS tapes, Space Jam, and Tonka Trucks galore. Even with all of the nostalgia, the lyrics still feel fresh, though there is definitely a hint of old-school 90’s rap woven in. All in all, “Timing” is an uplifting and fun journey that’s meant to inspire and remind those who still look back on memories filled with NBA Street and pancakes with too much syrup that the good times are still to come.
