R.I.P. to Dark Man X.

There will never be another DMX. If you grew up in the 90s, more than likely, you were moved by a verse, a song, a prayer, or a movie that the Yonkers rapper did. While DMX didn’t hop on the mic much these last couple of years, one of the most recent songs that he was able to create, “X Moves,” hit streaming services last night.

While I may not love “X Moves” (It kinda sounds like a bad Limp Bizkit track), I do think that it gives folks a glimpse of who DMX was as a rapper. Throughout the song, he spits bars about his tenable mind and his competitive nature using a raspy delivery and very simple flows. He also barks like a madman. As for Bootsy Collins, he adds some random pimpadociosness to the track (In all honesty, I don’t know why he’s on this song).

I didn’t realize how much people loved DMX until yesterday. Rest easy, legend.
