Minneapolis-based composer, producer, and engineer Jeff Goldsmith is a rising new artist with a unique sound. In addition to his personal musical pursuits, Jeff has also composed music for television and commercials. His upcoming album May You Find the Light Before the Devil Knows He’s Right is his third solo album entirely crafted on his own and created during the 2020 pandemic. The new album will feature various sounds, including alternative rock, dark ambient, and neo-classical. “That Witch…” is a track off of his upcoming album.
Whatever you think this track is going to be, it’s not. Filled with intensity and passion, “That Witch…” hits explosive highs with its in-your-face howls that seamlessly switch to eerie soft ambient tones and piano notes. The transitions in “That Witch…” feel shocking, it doesn’t seem like it should work, yet somehow it all blends together and feels like a magical journey of intensity and soft hypnotizing vocals. At almost seven minutes long, it certainly earns the right to be an epic tale.
