Tory Lanez Cruises Into Neon Nostalgia With “’87 Stingray”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Tory Lanez must’ve watched Christine as much as I did last month.

Tory Lanez has always moved like a one-man marketing engine, equal parts showman and sonic shapeshifter. Whether he’s bending genres or building entire aesthetics around his releases, he thrives on reinvention. With his upcoming 80s-inspired album Alone at Prom, Tory leans fully into a time capsule persona, channeling retro charisma like a modern-day Marty McFly who missed his ride back to the present.

His latest drop, “’87 Stingray”, continues that neon-lit journey with unapologetic flair. The track’s production boasts the kind of sound you would hear on a dance scene on Saved By The Bell, complete with shimmering synths and a nice little tempo.

Tory’s vocals don’t just sit on the beat; they challenge it, creating a playful tension that keeps listeners locked in. Lyrically, he taps into youthful confidence, echoing the swagger of high school icons who knew they were the s**t at the daily lunch table. F**k those dudes, bro.

Bro, how is Tory Lanez able to pull this s**t off? I’m genuinely flabbergasted.
