A smooth and emotional ride in a jazz-pop song.
Foxy Apollo is a jazz-funk band that was formed in 2016 by Sam Ashkenazy. “We began playing shows together and the chemistry felt amazing. It didn’t take long before we knew that this project was something very special to us!” said Sam. Besides their founder, the Foxy Apollo band is made up of Zachary Schmidt, Dallas Quick, Jackson Cruz, and Alex Dillard. In 2018, they released their debut EP Tangie, and their first album titled Sweet Talk came out in 2020. With their steady progression, on December 31st, they released their new single and their first accompanying music video.
“New Shade of Blue” is a notable pop song with a smooth melody. Lyrics like “I don’t wanna be a human in such a limited world, I wish I could be abducted by an alien race” bring forward a whimsical sense of emotional reality with a touch of illusion. To Sam and the rest of Foxy Apollo, this music “represents turning a new leaf and expanding your perspective over and over again. I want you to hear this song and feel the desire to create and grow”.
