RGM RATING (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

A catchy, upbeat single filled with fun and fiery lyrics.

South Florida-based musical artist and entrepreneur Starr Dawkins (better known as Star) is an entertainer who can craft attention-grabbing tunes. Starr says, “I want to be the reason Latinos and Jamaicans dream big.” In addition to pursuing music, she created the thriving business Sweet Cookie Wash. Starr’s latest release is the reggae single “Sponsor,” produced by Grammy Award-winning creator IzyBeats.

According to a recent interview, Starr’s new track is a tribute to dancehall and is meant to “focus on entertainment and fun.” Complimented by boosting, infectious beats, Starr commands attention with bold lyrics. Lines like “Kartel mi dun know yu case, before yu dead, come gimme fat pum pum a taste” and “Airplane did crash wid the scoke so Skilibeng have the money fi put it inna mi throat” get playfully suggestive, while the ultra contagious rhythm leaves you wanting more.  The new song shows that this multifaceted creative certainly knows how to create melodic and engaging music.
