This is exactly what the pandemic needed: A cover to “Swim Good” by Machine Gun Kelly.
Where Machine Gun Kelly is career-wise right now is exactly where he needs to be for the rest of his life. I think that the rapper turned pop-punk singer has found his calling in music and is now making the best tunes of his life. With that being said, as good as he’s been these last couple of years, I’m not sure I can co-sign his cover of Frank Ocean’s “Swim Good” track.
This song is not bad at all. Matter of fact, the rap that MGK drops in the middle of it is pretty good. “Swim Good” is just sacred, to me. Some s**t just needs to not be remade: The XFL, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Motorola flip phones, and “Swim Good.”
Since MGK started beefing with Eminem, he’s been amazing.
