These last couple of years, I’ve been listening to Sly Rankin’s music extensively. One of the reasons I enjoy his songs is because they tend to blast old-school hip-hop vibes. Sly’s latest single, “Family Matters,” doesn’t only feature great old-school vibes, but it also features heartwarming lyrics.
“Family Matters” is about paying homage to the people that matter the most to you: You’re family! In the song, Sly does a good job of hitting us with bars that highlight how much he loves his wifey and welcomes the opportunity of being a father. while he does a good job of hitting us with hard-hitting/impactful raps, featured guest Ch4se and the song’s gentle instrumental provides the song with soothing vibes.
