RGM RATING (??????)

Wait, I don’t understand what I said in the title at all.

There are definitely a bunch of little Lil Uzi Verts running around in the world. In other words, it’s not uncommon to hear an emo-hop song on the radio these days. One thing that I do not think all of the little Lil Uzi Verts of the world can do (But Uzi can) is shine on a bubblegum track. With that being said, a song called “bbycakes” that features Uzi has hit streaming services, and trust me, it’s the most adorable s**t I’ve ever heard in my life.

Musa Masa, the man behind “bbycakes,” said the following about the song:

“I feel like ‘bbycakes is a future-facing record. Clashing U.K. with U.S., hard drill music with cute U.K. garage culture, underground with overground. Most of all it’s a mission statement for the vicarious and playful nature that I think popular music needs to be looking to in order to soundtrack those crucial moments of fun and hedonism in an increasingly cynical culture.”

Everybody involved in the making of this song had to be under the influence of bath salts.
