Albion Asunder
Dada Paradox
RGM RATING (????????)
An alternative track exploring political issues with passion.
Oxford, UK-based musical duo, Ian and Liza Roure, are the creative minds behind Dada Paradox, a progressive retro-pop project. Dada Paradox “deconstructs the psychedelic pop, rock & folk of the 60s, 70s & 80s to create a soundtrack that relates to the present world.” According to the duo, their moniker comes from the 20th-century art movement, usually known as Dada or Dadaism. Dada Paradox’s music additionally responds to modern-day issues while offering a compelling and unique style. This stylish music is available on Spotify, YouTube, and their own website. Dada Paradox’s “Albion Asunder” is the title song for their 2019 six-track EP. Additionally, it features accompanying visuals.
There’s a backdrop of instrumentals that makes “Albion Asunder” ear-pleasing. Its guitar and warm vocals compliment its introspective tale. Lyrics like “The would-be conquerors denied / September 1945 / A plan to stop the hateful tide from rising again” and “In recent times the battle lines / tricked by science misapplied” explore British political issues. However, their main message also stresses that there’s no strength in division; clearly, the band aren’t afraid to approach modern issues. Instead, they offer a meaningful reflection on those issues accompanied by a folksy rock style. Dada Paradox also gives a thought-provoking experience and leaves a lasting impression. So, stream “Albion Asunder” today for that inspired sound of togetherness.
