Akif Daboor brings old-school hip-hop to the forefront with “Top Prospect.”
Akif Daboor is a NY-based recording artist that brings a fresh flavor to the hip-hop game. Though his catalog isn’t extensive, what I’ve heard from him so far tells me that he has a vintage rap heart. Akif’s most recent drop is “Top Prospect.”
“Top Prospect” features a classic hip-hop beat that will make b-boys all over the globe go wild. Over it, Akif spits bars highlighting his competitive nature, superior rap skills, and love for his hometown, Harlem. What astonishes me about the song is that he accurately uses deliveries, flows, and cadences that the great MCs from back in the day used to rely on. I wonder if he traveled to 2022 from 1990 using Marty McFly’s Delorean? Whatever the case may be, I rock with this song a lot!
