Dramatic vocals and powerful beats in an indie/pop song.
AJ Smith is an indie/pop singer-songwriter with incredible talent. He was drawn to music from an early age, and at 3 years old, he started taking piano lessons. During high school, Smith served as a violinist in the National Symphony Orchestra. Eventually, he moved to New York University to pursue his passion. For his debut EP, “Brooklyn Nights”, AJ collaborated with Grammy-award-winning producer Scott Jacoby, who worked with John Legend and Vampire Weekend. Smith has this EP and more available on Spotify, YouTube, and his own website. AJ Smith’s new single is the pop-rap combination, “Nobody.” The song also has an accompanying music video.
“Nobody” talks about Instagram, selfies, and how everyone wants to be famous. However, in that environment, you’re just a nobody. In this explosive pop song, Smith brings a parallel between our social media-driven world and an 1800s society. He says that, regardless of the century and the technology, we have always cared too much about what people think. With lyrics like “I’ll never be nobody cause I’m somebody to you,” he highlights the basic needs every human should have. In the song, Smith sounds like something in between Panic! at the Disco and Arctic Monkeys. To quote Kelly Clarkson: “if you haven’t heard Smith’s music yet, you’re welcome in advance!” So, stream AJ Smith’s “Nobody” today to learn what society charges.
