Affection
Ollie
RGM RATING (??????????)
A soothing pop song with powerful lyrics and moments of love.
Ollie, a singer from a small town south of Toronto, has been making music for the last six years. He creates music to help provide outlets for his fans, which is the same thing music did for him when he was younger. In his songs, Ollie often talks about failure, heartbreak, and mental health. Not only are these themes that fans can relate to, but they’re also things that he has experienced. These experiences are widespread — just like the platforms that he is on. His music is available on Spotify, YouTube, and his own website. Ollie’s newest single is from his most recent EP, which shares the name of the song, “Affection.”
In “Affection,” Ollie tries to convince his significant other that she is the only person on his mind, despite what his actions may suggest. The chorus screams, “wait, wait, I only care about you. Sorry, I’m just not the type to show affection.” At the same time, it offers a perspective that many people understand but are not quick to vocalize. We could talk about the mixed messages Ollie sends, but the most important thing is that he made a quality song. It’s honest, open, and all-around a good listen. So, stream Ollie’s “Affection” today to understand what distant love sounds like.
