Quick Album Reviews (06/26): Don Q, Curren$y, Juicy J & Money Man

Brief reviews and ratings for albums by Don Q, Curren$y, Juicy J, and Money Man.

Don Q – Corleone

Don Q decided to drop Corleone this past Friday. What I really like about the eleven-track album is that it features a bunch of hard-ass records. Like, Q raps with an aggressive tone for the majority of the project. He also does most of his work over beats that are designed to rattle club speakers. All in all, I like Corleone a lot. I give it a B-

Curren$y – Spring Clean 2 (Deluxe Edition)

Curren$y decided to drop the deluxe version of Spring Clean 2 this past Friday. What the Louisiana rapper decided to add to the project is five new tracks: “Ketchup,” “True Lies (Ft. Lloyd Banks),” Pass Rich (Ft. Rick Ross),” “Detergent” (Ft. G Perico),” and “Glass Ceiling (Ft. J Stone).” Out of all of the new tracks, “Pass Rich” and “True Lies” are the two that caught my attention. I have no rating for this project.

Juicy J & Pi’erre Bourne – Space Age Pimpin

Even though Juicy J could be Pi’erre Bourne’s father, their chemistry on this Space Age Pimpin project is solid. They keep the energy high throughout it and hit us with reckless lyrics, heart-pumping rap deliveries, and infectious melodies. While I wouldn’t call this album the best thing since sliced bread, I do think that it can get a party jumpin’ quickly. I give this album a C.

Money Man – Big Money

I told myself that I wouldn’t listen to another Money Man album until my Bitcoin value grew… I’m just playing (Kind of)! This past weekend, MM decided to release a brand new project called Big Money. It boasts 12 tracks with guest appearances from G Herbo, Nardo Wick, Benny The Butcher, Peezy, and more. As expected, Money Man gets his trap rapper on in the project as he talks about his drug dealing, money stacking, street-certified, and quick-tempered ways. I wish his vocals had a little more energy, the songs sounded a little less generic, and the audio sounded a little more high quality. I give this project a C-.
