Mayne Continues His Breakout This Year

Jamel DeMarco Swain (aka Mayne) is an alternative rap artist who makes thought-provoking and multi-layered music. In other words, while listening to his songs, you will find many elements that will make you think outside of the box. Though Mayne has spent time in Mississippi, Milwaukee, and Indianapolis, he currently calls Prince George’s County, Maryland home.

Mayne first emerged onto the music scene in 2006 with the EP Burn Da Game. After not being satisfied with the trials and tribulations that came with the project’s release, he took a hiatus from music. Thankfully, he returned to the music scene in 2018 with the impressive Soul Speak. Since then, Mayne has had his foot on the gas, releasing a myriad of singles and projects.

In 2022, Mayne released bangers such as “Yah,” “Know,” and “Still Gon Do It,” to name a few. In each song, he does a good job of hitting us with rap styles that are hypnotizing and raw. He also does a good job of piecing his words together poetically, really making listeners internalize his words.

Mayne’s growth as an artist coincides with his growth as a human. Give his catalog a shot by clicking here.
