My Friends

Ty Dolla $ign (Ft. Mustard & Lil Durk)

Ty Dolla $ign season has officially started (You didn’t notice the drastic weather change?).

If you listened to Kid Cudi’s latest release, Entergalatic, you heard two fantastic Ty Dolla $ign-assisted tracks on there. Honestly, I was kind of surprised at how well the two artists’ styles merged. In “My Friends,” Ty’s latest release, he merges his style with Lil Durk’s style.

In “My Friends,” both Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Durk highlight how they’ve always provided and stayed true to their day 1s. Over the exuberant Mustard production, Ty and Durk toy with infectious melodies, getting gritty when they need to. Though I think this song is good, I do feel like it sounds like some 2015 Ty Dolla s**t (I prefer to hear a little more progression out of him)…
