Clearly, we’re taking poison, right?

Friday Pilots Club is an up-and-coming alternative-rock band that brings raw emotions to the rock scene. In 2017, the band released their first single, “End Of It,” followed by “Would You Mind,” “Gold and Bones,” and “PRBLM” a year later. Their style has clear influences from classic rock bands, along with the indie-pop music of today. FPC dropped their first self-titled EP in 2021, then their second, I LOVE YOU, ROBOT SUPERSTAR, earlier this year. These, along with their singles, are available on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. Recently, Friday Pilots Club dropped their latest single, “Poison or Patience,” featuring OSTON. The song also has an accompanying lyric video.

“Poison or Patience” shows a man who dreads living. He constantly feels as if life is putting too much pressure on him. He’s drowning in his insecurities and depression and turns to social media to cope. As a result, he contemplates whether his attempts to be better are harmful to himself. The song goes further: It explores the downward spiral that self-loathing can send a person and the importance of taking care of our mental health. If not, you may pay the price of feeling the slow poison of depression. However, the song sugarcoats the dark messages with insane guitar riffs and an upbeat indie-pop sound. If you’re looking for a new alternative band to stan, this might be it. So, listen to Friday Pilots Club’s “Poison or Patience” to see where your mindset could go.
