Anything
Andre Henry
A head-nodding rap track that’s uplifting.
Stone Mountain, Georgia native, Andre Henry, is a writer, musician, and revolutionist. He believes everyone has a story and he tells his through music. Inspired by his reggae musician and activist father, Henry began writing songs at a young age. While studying theology in school, the tragic killing of Philando Castile awakened Henry’s desire for social change. With a change for the world heavy on his mind, he created music that was conscious and full of vulnerable storytelling. His impressive inventions are available on Spotify, YouTube, and his own website. Andre Henry’s latest single, “Anything,” is a highlight of change. The song also has an accompanying visualizer.
“Anything” casts a spell on the mind and body. Elements of soul, jazz, and R&B help to create a song that’s filled with groove. Henry tells it like it is with bars that are inspirational. At the same time, you can also find a laugh in every word. Lyrics like “Wish I could hug the younger me / Tell him how dope his future’s gonna’ be/ Show him that the man who he grew up to be/ Is a revolutionary“ show the transformative journey he’s gone through to become the person he is today. Henry is the complete opposite of the ‘nerd’ his peers once described him as. He’s become a musical genius; his rhymes are smooth and poetic. It gives a clear message that there’s nothing holding us back from what we aspire to be or do. So, press play and stream this song that inspires you to do “Anything.”
