Clutch
KUR
This song proves that KUR definitely has Kobe’s clutch gene.
Philadelphia’s very own, KUR, is slowly but surely building himself an impressive resume. What I like about it is that it features a bunch of hip-hop tracks that feel authentic in every single way. Recently, KUR released a pretty solid twelve-track album called Loyal To A Fault. “Clutch” is one of the best tracks from it.
In “Clutch,” KUR lets it be known that he never ducks smoke, that his rough upbringing has molded him into the man that he is today, and that his work ethic is the reason he has been able to leave his competition in the dirt. He also calls out all of the individuals that doubted him when he didn’t have a penny to his name. What I absolutely love about the song is how it features this emotional hip-hop beat that begs for a singer to do some work over it, yet KUR hops on it sounding hungry, motivated, aggressive, and like a champ. It’s almost like he made the track after cashing a million-dollar check and killing a cheesesteak from Ishkabibble’s.
