J-Minu$
A pop single that speaks on the ups and downs of your first love.
South Texas-based musical creative, J-Minu$, is also known as Justin Jimenez. Jimenez is an artist who first began writing and recording his own songs when he was 16 years old. His distinctive alternative pop sound takes a “cinematic approach” while also taking influence from 80s punk and modern artists. Though J-Minu$ has been releasing new music since 2016, he decided to completely rebrand himself in 2021. As a result, he has shown tons of growth as both an artist and a man. J-Minu$’s discography is available on Spotify, YouTube, and SoundCloud. His latest drop is the pop single “firstlove.” The song also has an accompanying visualizer.
We’ve been getting into bedroom pop and softer songs this year, and “firstlove” is no exception to this new dive. The song mixes early 2010s pop and vibes you would hear on kid shows from the 2000s. Lyrics like “You already know the deal / Heartbreak in a few months left you in your feels / So cold got some chills” and “Lowkey, I’ve been feeling lonely, kinda hard to let go, when you were my first fling” remind us how happy love can make us. However, at the same time, it’s a song about never really moving on, simply because there’s so much to miss. It’s relatable, lowkey in its own right. So, press play below to experience the ache of an old “firstlove.”
