Amaru Cloud’s stock is rising rapidly. Since making his debut in 2018 with the Jay Critch-assisted “Notice It,” he has consistently released nothing but hot-ass tracks and well-received projects. Some of Amaru’s biggest singles are “Act Up,” “Hidden Hills,” and “Composure.” His latest major release is the album No Te Veo. One of the best songs from the project is “Occasion” with Jay Gwaupo.
In “Occasion,” Amaru Cloud and Jay Gwuapo rap about their hungry shooters, thirsty women, and big banks that have been taking little banks for a while now. The song boasts this menacing drill beat that encourages mean-mugging and hoodie-wearing. You have to appreciate how Amaru and Jay ride the beat; they both hit us with quick-paced flows that pair fantastically with their confident demeanors. All in all, “Occasion” is a short but sweet drill banger.
