Ella Red is a singer and songwriter born with the gift we all wish we had. Pop doesn’t always mean dance-ready, but it does today in this case. “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” might be romantic, but it doesn’t let any listener stay still. Instead, it calls “the one” out for playing games with Red’s heart. Lyrics like “Waiting games are getting lame, Don’t care ’bout flowers anymore, You say I’m the only one, I’m what you’ve been waiting for” and “Are you waiting on a rainy day, Are you ever gonna quit s***, commit, stop the games” call out the broken promises of a would-be romantic partner. What does commitment mean if you won’t follow through? At this point, Red is so beyond done with the roundabouts, and you should be too.
