Player’s Fool (Who Am I?)
Elle Baez
A soulful self-discovery.
Elle Baez is a singer and songwriter that is blowing up quickly. Last year, she opened for Bea Miller at the VS Pink x PopSugar Show and performed all over the East Coast on a tour funded by VS Pink. Baez’s songs have received praise from Euphoria, LADYGUNN, Flaunt Magazine, Onestowatch, The New Nine, and SweetyHigh. Her music “mixes her advocacy and storytelling with rich soundscapes that use elements of pop, Latin, r&b, jazz, and funk to create a sound that is uniquely her own.” The singer is also a Recording Academy songwriter for her work co-writing Scarlet Parke’s popular tune “369.” Some of Elle’s previous releases include “Come Back,” “Better With You,” and “Pretty Insecurities.” These songs, and more, are available on Spotify, YouTube, and her own website. Elle Baez’s latest drop is the R&B single “Player’s Fool (Who Am I?).”
“Player’s Fool (Who Am I?)” provides a striking retro-toned soundscape that challenges the thoughts of what the future holds for us. Lyrics like “Used to knowin’ where I’m goin’ / Don’t need directions / Got people followin’ me” and “Head in the clouds, now a halo’s my crown / Find myself wondering / Who am I?” examine how experiencing love can change how we see ourselves. At the same time, it reminds us of the different parts of us and who we are.
