The Weeknd Releases “A Lesser Man,” “Take Me Back,” and “Get It B4”

“A Lesser Man,” “Take Me Back” & “Get It B4”

The Weeknd & Moses Sumney

The Weeknd is keeping the releases coming.

These days, Sundays are reserved for The Weeknd’s new series, The Idol. So far, we’ve received three episodes from the bold HBO series. For every episode, The Weeknd has dropped at least one new single. For episode 3, he decided to drop three new singles: “A Lesser Man,” “Take Me Back,” and “Get It B4.”

You get stereotypical The Weeknd performances in “A Lesser Man” and “Take Me Back.” In those two songs, the Canadian singer hits us with breathtaking performances that boast high-pitched vocals and very vulnerable lyrics. We also get fantasy-like production that will sound very good during a play. Of all the songs The Weeknd dropped for this The Idol soundtrack, these two sound the most The Weekend-Esque.

The best song out of the three released last night might be the one that doesn’t feature The Weeknd. “Get It B4” by Moses Sumney is a neo-soul banger that would probably fit The Best Man 3 instead of The Idol. In the song, you get jazzy instrumentation, bombastic vocals, and pretty laid-back lyrics. The change of pace that the track provides is interesting.

From what I’ve read, it seems like The Idol is getting weirder and weirder…
