Thank You
ANTH (Ft. Corey Nyell)
A song that explores the pains of a toxic relationship.
ANTH is a multi-talented rapper, singer, and songwriter who started as a friend to a singer. ANTH initially grew his fanbase and gained recognition by making “positive cover songs alongside future UK star Conor Maynard.” Since then, the artist has created a successful career as an independent artist with plenty of hits. Some of his previous releases include songs like “Let It Be,” “The One,” and “If This Is Goodbye.” These songs, and more, are available on YouTube and SoundCloud. Recently, ANTH teamed up with fellow artist, Corey Nyell; together, the pair created the hip-hop single “Thank You.” The song also has an official accompanying video.
Though it doesn’t seem like the type of thing to do so, “Thank You” is, ironically, all about heartache. It’s a song that expresses gratitude to the ex for being far away now and allowing the artists to realize they are free. Lyrics like “You said you would be there whenever I fall, Now I can see you ain’t mean that at all” and “I revolved my entire life around ya, You would put me through hell and I’d allow ya” reflect on the pain of being taken for granted in a one-sided relationship. In exploring the various struggles that come with being with an unhealthy partner, ANTH and Corey Nyell come together, offering smooth-flowing verses that perfectly capture the complexity of a difficult breakup. So, press play on “Thank You” and goodbye to a toxic ex.
