Pink

Lizzo

This Barbie soundtrack has recruited the best female artists in the world (Including Ice Spice).

The Barbie movie will go down as one of the greatest of all time; can you believe that? Lowkey, the soundtrack is also pretty epic. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve heard songs from it by Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, and more. In other words, a bunch of poppin’ female singers and rappers are down with the Mattel doll. Today, Lizzo, another major female act, decided to release a single from the soundtrack called “Pink.”

“Pink” sounds like it was made in the heart of the 80s. The song boasts bombastic/colorful/lively production that I can see the Lionel Ritchies of the world loving. As for Lizzo, she approaches the track sounding like the narrator of a toy commercial, hitting us with bubbly vocals and lyrical content that makes it seem like she’s living in some kind of perfect world. Trust me, LA is far from perfect, so she isn’t talking about there.

Y’all played this song for those aliens those air force folks caught, didn’t you?
