Chase B & Swae Lee – Street Sweeper

Cactus Jack loves Swae Lee. He’s on every Travis Scott album and is now on Chase B’s latest single, “Street Sweeper.” Chase uses Swae the right way in the song, too. He makes him sing with that carefree, high-pitched sound that we love out of him. As for the beat Swae does his work over, it’s as mean as it is chill.

KILLY & SL – Studio Freestyle

This is one meaningful freestyle. In it, KILLY and SL rap about everything, from loyalty to their impressive come-ups to their big bucks. I think the beat they do their work over is undeniably fire. I also appreciate the rawness with which they deliver their verses. (Do I have to say “pause” after saying that?)

Goodfellas

38 Spesh (Ft. Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine)

38 Spesh’s last few singles have been harder than constipated poop. His latest one, “Goodfellas” with Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher, is just as hard. In the song, the three rappers hit us with killer punchlines, trill-ass lyrics, and flawless flows over a beat that is both cold and hot, like Anthony Davis’ playoff numbers.

Jersey

Baby Tate

This might be my favorite Baby Tate release of all time. I appreciate how vibrant it sounds, the Jersey Club vibes in the production, and the vulnerability that comes through in Tate’s lyrics. Overall, I can see this track becoming the one that significantly elevates her status in the music industry.

Can’t Go To Jail

Finesse2Tymes

There’s nothing more genius than dropping a song about going to jail after being released from jail. The latest person to do this is Finesse2Tymes. In “Can’t Go To Jail,” he uses a rugged rap style to let his listeners know he’s doing a lot of s**t that might make him end up in jail, but he has no intentions of going there. I see him going anyway.

Dancing In The Dark

Doc Ish, Madishu, and Highlife Guilty

You get the perfect fusion of Billie Eilish-like pop and Action Bronson-like raps in “Dancing In The Dark.” This dynamic, romantic piece, which tackles the idea of love in several different ways, can be enjoyed by several different people. That’s why I like the song.

Therapy Or A Bottle

SØ & Typical DiV

The bottle is my therapy. Anywho, in “Therapy Or A Bottle,” you get some very deep, reflective raps from Typical Div (Which are delivered using consistent/dynamic flows), an intoxicating vocal performance from SØ, and a smooth beat. All in all, I like that the song feels like an authentic vent session from someone like you and me. Actually, he’s not like us; he can rap his ass off.

The Journey

Kevin Nova

Remember when Cam’ron told Bill O’Reilly “You Mad” a few years ago? That’s the vibes I get from “The Journey.” In the song, Kevin Nova basks in his major come-up and s**ts on those who doubted him in the past. What I love is the confidence Nova spits with throughout. It complements every word he mentions about getting it out of the mud.
