ILL WHAT I BLEED
Kid Cudi
Two Cudi tracks, and it isn’t even Christmas yet?
Unfortunately, Kid Cudi has decided to postpone the release of his INSANO album, which is now scheduled for January 2024. However, he has made a return to the music scene with two new songs: “ILL WHAT I BLEED” and “MOST AIN’T DENNIS.” Below, I’ll focus on the former.
Kid Cudi talks his s**t in “ILL WHAT I BLEED.” Throughout the song, which is powered by this hypnotizing, bass-booming beat, he raps about breaking rules, giving middle fingers to haters, and being cooler than a left-out pickle. The hook Cudi gifts us with is as catchy as it gets and boasts these strung-out vocals that will get stuck in your head easily. In his verses, the Cleveland artist sounds like a robot that is capable of leading a rebellion. All in all, I think this is a great comeback track.
What should we expect from Kid Cudi’s forthcoming album? I don’t f**king know. While I don’t want to see him restricted in his creativity, I appreciate songs like this one, where he keeps things less experimental. Whatever direction he chooses, it’s clear that INSANO will be an important release for him.
