Cleo Soul – Heaven

The older I get, the more I appreciate Cleo Soul’s music. In a world where everyone wants to be a trapper or in a toxic relationship, Cleo makes music that feels invigorating and soul-cleansing (Ironically). Heaven, her latest release, is a work of art. The nine-track project boasts soothing instrumentation, hypnotizing/beautiful vocals, poetic lyrical content, and what I feel are authentic soulful vibes. This album literally feels like a drive down heaven’s highways.

Favorite Tracks: “Self,” “Go Baby” & “Heaven”

Sleepy Hallow – Boy Meets World

Sleepy Hallow makes some of my favorite drill music right now. He usually combines emotional pop elements with gritty raps, creating a fusion that is on some trill top 40 s**t. In Boy Meets World, Sleepy doubles, triples, and quadruples down on that sound.

While I think the vibes are impeccable in Boy Meets World, I do wish the raps didn’t sound as monotone. Then again, Sleepy Hallow seems with the s**ts, so I understand why he doesn’t want to sound even remotely sweet on records.

Favorite Tracks: “Good Girls Ain’t No Fun,” “ADHD,” “GBG,” “Die Young” and “Pain Talk.”

KILLY – K3

I think it’s a matter of time before KILLY really takes off. I just feel like he has a knack for making songs full of infectious melodies and relatable but trill lyrics. KILLY’s K3 project, which is supposedly dedicated to his fallen partner in crime, SEGA, is full of high-energy club bangers. You can really play the EP straight through as it flows well and is fun to listen to.

Favorite Tracks: “Same Energy,” “LOOK AT WHAT WE STARTED,” and “Addicting.”
