Kodak Black wants to reassure you that he’s still down for you.
Kodak Black has long hair again. You know what that means, right? He’s ready to return to his dominant ways (This is actually a complete guess by me). Today, the Pompano Beach rapper returned to the music scene with a brand new single called “Hope You Know.”
“Hope You Know” gives me “Super Gremlin” vibes. Both tracks feature a version of Kodak Black that is vulnerable and slightly disappointed. In the former, Kodak talks about the fallouts he has had throughout the years and his interest in rekindling some of the friendships he has lost. He also pays homage to his mother for “praying over him” every time he walks out the door. What really resonates with me is the pure passion displayed from start to finish. Every line Kodak delivers sounds real as f**k as he chooses to employ emotional vocals over gritty raps. In my opinion, the bag we get from him in this song is his best.
Kodak Black is undefeated when he talks about mending friendships in a song.
