3. Wizard 101
I love it when Trippie Redd sounds like a rebellious teenager who doesn’t eat vegetables.
Trippie Redd sounds like he gives 0 f**ks in “Wizard 101.” He starts the song with a laidback vibe, delivering relaxed rap verses and boasting about his lavish possessions and easygoing lifestyle. As the track progresses, he becomes increasingly eccentric, ramping up his wildness and intensity. What appeals to me about this song is its mellow instrumental and soothing melodies that are easy on the ears.
2. #SDWL 😉
In the realm of the knucklehead, Playboi Carti-esque beats prevalent in contemporary hip-hop, I genuinely believe that “#SDWL ;)” showcases my favorite (Deadass).
This track is unbelievably catchy. I mean, in the chorus, Trippie Redd says, “She don’t want love” over and over again; how can that not get stuck in your head? Aside from the catchy hook, I appreciate how carefree and nonchalant Trippie sounds throughout the song. He legitimately comes across as a guy who’s ready to engage in some adventurous encounters with a chick he met in the bar area of The Park at 14th.
1. Psychotic Lunatic
This is peak Trippie Redd.
When Trippie Redd locks in, he’s easily one of the best hip-hop artists in the game. In “Psychotic Lunatic,” he sounds fully locked in. While the track’s title may suggest a wild experience, it surprises with some of Trippie’s most angelic vocals and vulnerable lyrics set against a boom-bap hip-hop beat that will make you nod your head.

Do you know what this album feels like? A reminder to folks that Trippie Redd is one of the best young rappers in the world… Still. Both Saint Michael and Saint Michael V2 boast trippy beats, which one could argue he was among the first to rap over. They showcase exuberant bars, rebellious vocals, and carefree lyrics that resonate with young individuals living life on the edge. Though you have to put up with the times in which Trippie comes across as completely unchained and outlandish, I recommend you let your guard down and have fun with the project. I mean, it’s Thanksgiving weekend, for Christ’s sake!
