Playboi Carti Sounds Squeaky As Hell In “H00DBYAIR”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Yo, I legit do not know what Playboi Carti is doing musically.

Last week, I said that Playboi Carti has fans who would drink bleach for him. Well, those same fans have been fed pretty well as of late. After being silent for most of 2023, last week, Carti dropped two new singles, “2024” and “UR THE MOON.” Today, he returned to the music scene with another fresh single: “H00DBYAIR.”

“H00DBYAIR” is driven by an action-packed beat with furious bass that will put your speakers on their asses. As for Playboi Carti, he employs a squeaky, barf-like style of rapping throughout, using it to express his highs (“My eyes are open, I’m high, I can’t believe I can die”), call out copycats (“All you ever do is copy, all you ever do is mock, Why you talkin’ about me?”), and shout out his kids (“I was twenty-four when I had lil’ Onyx, (Then I had a daughter, I had a daughter too) Twenty-seven when I had Eve”). Despite the song feeling somewhat incomplete and unorganized, it exudes epic energy.

I Am Music will break what’s left of the internet.
