Russ Pours His Heart Out In “Said It Freestyle”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Russ has been pretty vulnerable as of late.

Remember when Russ was dropping a new single every week last year? These days, he hasn’t been as generous, but he has still dropped a bunch of singles and a few projects. Today, the New Jersey native decided to close his year out by dropping the very introspective “Said It Freestyle.”

It’s always a treat when Russ opens up to the world, and that’s mainly because he typically has some meaningful s**t to say. In “Said It Freestyle,” he becomes a completely open book. Throughout the song, which is driven by a cold and lonely instrumental that might evoke a tear or two, he discusses maintaining a good work-life balance, working on personal growth, and staying true to himself. Despite the touching content, Russ never wavers from sounding like his usual confident self, which is a lesson in its own right.

Hating on Russ in 2023 is just plain stupid.
