Summer Walker Showcases Her Amazing Vocals In “DROWN IN MY LOVE”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Summer Walker is my favorite female R&B singer at the moment. I love the passion, pure emotions, and bluntness she infuses into every record she creates. Simultaneously, as of late, she’s become a significant R&B collaborator for rappers aiming to produce commercial R&B/hip-hop singles. Although 2023 has been relatively quiet for Summer, she did release an EP titled CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP, which featured an impressive guest appearance from J. Cole. Today, she decided to close the year with a powerful new single called “DROWN IN MY LOVE.”

As expected, “DROWN IN MY LOVE” is about some depressing s**t. In the song, which features easygoing, vintage R&B production, Summer Walker passionately lets her partner know that she isn’t ready to immerse herself fully into a relationship until she feels her heart is in the right place. Strong vocals accompany every word she delivers, proving once again that she has a voice on her.

Summer Walker needs a Russell Wilson-like dude in her life. She has to let the lowlifes go.
