Prismala’s Searches For The “Right Place”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

A groovy indie pop gem that’s the perfect balmy late-night vibe.

Berlin-based Prismala is a creative foursome comprised of Freddie Brown, Adama Cefalu, Niklas Gantenberg, and multi-instrumentalist Leon Oranian. Drawing from a wide range of influences, the group blends neo-soul warmth, indie pop charm, and the energy of alternative rock. They released their debut album in 2023 and have since performed across Germany.

Prismala’s latest release is the seven-track indie pop project For The Record, which includes the standout song “Right Place.” On Instagram, the group shared, “These seven songs explore the realities of being an artist today and what it means to navigate attention, expectations, and identity while staying true to yourself. Oh, and it’s also our manifesto for our shared love for bowling.”

“Right Place” delivers an easygoing, bright mix of warm guitar and infectious rhythms, creating a sweet, tranquil backdrop that feels like a calm spring night. Lyrics like “Have we come to the right place? / Just another cave for the wolves or the right place?” reflect the uncertainty that comes with chasing dreams while staying cautious of the world around you.

With its feel-good, neo-soul-infused sound and thoughtful self-reflection, Prismala delivers a groovy indie pop gem that fits perfectly into any laid-back, late-night vibe.
