Aloysius Bell Pours Her Heart Out on “Wreckage”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Winnipeg-born, Montreal-based Aloysius Bell (aka Annick Brémault) is a singer and songwriter who crafts seriously stunning tunes. Her alter ego “is a persona born from intense soul-searching who aims to shed light on murky, in-between spaces.” Prior to releasing her first solo songs in 2019, Aloysius Bell was a member of the Juno-award-winning group Chic Gamine and “toured extensively in North America and internationally and appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, Vinyl Café, Radio-Canada’s Studio 12 and other notable broadcasts.” The singer has also performed and collaborated with various artists like Damien Robitaille, Willows, Sala and David Myles. Aloysius Bell’s latest drop is the R&B single “Wreckage.

With a delightfully dynamic blend of warm R&B and infectious electro elements, “Wreckage” provides the perfect soul-stirring backdrop to beautifully complement the tune’s intimate exploration. Lyrics like “Give me a reason, show me love, Is there some truth in the message” and “I want to hear it, so tell me now, I won’t be caught here in the wreckage” offer up a vulnerable exploration of romantic conflict and the whirlwind of emotions that come with clashing with a loved one. Fueled by some seriously striking vocals and a wonderfully timeless sense, Aloysius Bell gifts us with a radiant R&B gem that’s absolutely mesmerizing. So press play, and don’t let yourself get caught in the “Wreckage.”
