If Lil Yachty didn’t win 2023, he took the year seven games. I found his Lets Start Here. album, released in January 2023, to be exceptional. Additionally, I commend him for going head-to-head with more established rappers like J. Cole and Drake in various songs throughout that year.
DontKallMeLuxxy isn’t new to the game. He started releasing music in 2017, with his biggest hit to-date being “Trance.” I have a sneaky feeling that his “SYDNEY” single with Lil Yachty will surpass that song in streams and popularity.
A lot of s**t gets talked in “SYDNEY,” but I want you to first admire the beat that drives the song. It’s a flipped version of Beanie Sigel’s classic “Feel It In The Air” beat. What’s cool is that the beat starts off sounding fast as hell but eventually slows down (Either that happened or I ate too many ‘Shrooms). Regardless of the pace of the beat, Yachty and DontKallMeLuxxy come with the heat. They ride the beat extremely well while hitting us with lyrics that talk about the murderous things they would do to their haters, opps, and more. The latter also references Megan Thee Stallion in a very unique (aka disrespectful) way. You be the judge by listening to the track.
Megan The Stallion catches so many strays (No pun intended).
