3. Life’s Delight

Do you know something that is very underrated? When a song sounds like what its title is.

“Life’s Delight” can be considered one of Big O and Tranzformer’s most therapeutic creations. The instrumental features delightful piano notes, a steady tempo, and a blend of old-school hip-hop, atmospheric, and gentle vibes. Pressing play on this track is an instant mood booster.

Pairing the experience of enjoying a Chinese delight dish with the soothing sounds of “Life’s Delight” is likely the pinnacle of satisfaction.

2. Everyday (Remix) (Ft. Fashawn, Cashius King & Spray Money)

I just had to put the one track with raps on this list.

Do you know the only thing better than a high-quality beat that’s easy on the ears? A high-quality beat with great rap verses. In “Everyday (Remix),” we get just that. Over the smooth, therapeutic backdrop that Big O and Tranzformer provide, Fashawn, Cashius King, and Spray Money deliver excellent verses. They are laid down with great ease, boast wise and competitive lyrics, and feature some really good punchlines. This track reminds me that nothing beats a rap track with good chemistry, a smooth beat, and rappers who don’t have to do a bunch of gimmicks to get their s**t off.

1. Flashy girls

I love soul and being high off life, so “Flashy girls” resonated with me mightily.

“Flashy Girls” is the perfect tune to play on a rainy day when you’re seeking nothing but pleasant vibes. Rooted in soulfulness and gentleness, it also carries an excellent knock that infuses the song with positive energy.

Honey Brown’s contributions to “Flashy girls” is small but impactful. She channels the R&B vocals of damn-there every single popular black singer that your grandparents love to tell you “was before your time.” It’s both refreshing and reflective to listen to.

OVERALL RATING

(B)

If you haven’t experienced an instrumental album by Big O yet, you’re definitely missing out. His creations are of high quality, multi-layered, and diverse. In this collaboration with Tranzformer, another producer known for great work, we are treated to seven exceptional instrumentals.

One aspect of this project that I appreciate is its therapeutic sound. The instrumentals blend hip-hop vibes with soothing elements, providing a massage-like experience for the ears. The atmospheric elements add to the overall feel-good ambiance. Despite its brevity, this project succeeds in rekindling my love for pure music.
