The talk of Polo G falling off is greatly exaggerated. I still believe Polo G creates outstanding music and continues to garner attention from hip-hop fans. However, I’ve noticed some inconsistency in his release schedule. At the end of the day, I think Polo is the type of artist who can’t be pressured into releasing new material. His music feels organic and thoughtful, and it’s clear he takes his time to craft each project. That being said, fans were delighted with a new release from the Chicago artist earlier today: “Sorrys & Ferraris.”
“Sorrys & Ferraris” highlights a theme that comes with getting it out of the mud as a musician. In the song, Polo G reflects on the transformative impact of picking up a mic, which brought both positive changes and challenges. He touches on losing friends, gaining enemies, and receiving pleas from others as a result of his newfound path.
We get prime Piano G in “Sorrys and Ferraris.” In the song, Polo G utilizes emotional melodic vocals that seamlessly complement his lyrics about resilience, all set against a dramatic trap beat. While these vocals shine on his verses, they truly excel on the hook (I think the hook is clearly the best thing about the song).
Looking at the music video for this song (Which you can see below), Polo G has aged a little. Aging is a good thing, y’all (Especially if you come from the hood).
