DDG Says He’s “Going To The Top”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

It’s odd how DDG receives so much hate. Sure, he’s not on Jay-Z’s level, but he’s never claimed to be. It seems like it’s become trendy to dislike him, and if you happen to enjoy his work, you’re seen as uncool. But let’s be real: DDG has a lot of money, so don’t feel too sorry for him. Anywho, recently, he dropped a new single titled “Going To The Top.”

In “Going To The Top,” DDG boasts about his hard work and accomplishments while cautioning against distractions like romantic entanglements. He also does a lot of laughing at his weak-ass competition. Though DDG drops some interesting advice, I only took some notes here and there.

I believe this song’s standout feature is its smooth, bass-booming beat. As for DDG, his delivery rides on a somewhat repetitive yet strangely catchy melody. While I don’t love the song’s overall sound, it’s tolerable enough to listen to.

How can DDG morph himself into a favorable rapper?
