My homie Uche told me about 4batz a few weeks ago. We were out drinking that day, so I was too tipsy to comprehend his description of the artist. Uche said 4batz has a gritty persona (He wears a shiesty even though COVID has subsided) but a voice similar to Bryson Tiller (Like, WTF?). At the end of the day, it seems like music fans are running his s**t up because he is averaging an asinine amount of streams on Spotify. Today, 4batz got his biggest endorsement yet: A Drake feature on his biggest hit to date, “Act ii: date @ 8.”
As you may know by now, “act ii: date @ 8” is as romantic as it gets. In the song, 4batz mainly sings about spoiling this chick that he’s seeing. From what I gathered, she can best be reached by IG and has a man already. What Drake adds to this remix is a playa-like, manipulative verse that is probably best utilized if whispered in a chick’s ear. You just can’t have bad breath.
The biggest thing about 4batz is his voice. I’m sure it’s altered because it’s high as hell. I do think his voice sounds perfect when paired with the silky smooth production he usually likes doing his work over. As for Drake, I love that he brought his sly R&B style to this track over a slowed-up version of the beat. All in all, I think this is a cool collaboration.
4batz looks way too goonish to be making love songs.
