NBA YoungBoy’s crew unites in “Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain.”

5. When We Slide (Ft. NBA YoungBoy & DDAWG)

If this song had better audio quality…

Despite its shortcomings in audio quality and uninspiring rap verses revolving around the dark theme of being hardened killers, the redeeming aspect of this song is its chorus. The soulful vocals, especially when paired with the jazzy instrumentation, make it worth a listen.

4. Talk My Shit (Ft. Lil Dump)

Lil Dump is the perfect backup quarterback for NBA YoungBoy.

Lil Dump makes appearances throughout this album, but his standout performance for me was in “Talk My Shit.” He shines by channeling NBA YoungBoy’s intense energy, delivering his verses with a ferocity that mirrors the main artist. The track features one of those frenetic Louisiana-styled beats on which YoungBoy typically thrives.

3. Yummy (Ft. Vontina)

NBA YoungBoy might have found his Nicki Minaj.

On an album featuring several NBA YoungBoy tracks, Vontina stands out with her performance. In “Yummy,” she radiates confidence and swagger while discussing stealing other women’s men and amassing wealth over a lively club beat. Despite its shortness, the song has significant club potential.

2. Hurt (Ft. NBA YoungBoy & BBG Baby Joe)

Give me an emotional NBA YoungBoy any day of the week.

Once you move beyond BBG Baby Joe’s initial verse, you encounter the raw essence of NBA YoungBoy. In “Hurt,” he delivers passionate vocals, denouncing the presence of snakes around him, the women who deserted him in times of need, and the relentless scrutiny of the FBI. Despite its somewhat choppy flow, I find the song too intriguing to overlook.

1. Bling (Ft. NBA YoungBoy & Lil Dump)

How many times can you say this: “Bling” is a fun-sounding NBA YoungBoy track? It features a colorful, booming beat, a joyful hook, and lyrical content about jumpin’ diamonds and lowkey rendezvouses. WhileI love the moments in which NBA YoungBoy and Lil Dump sound bombastic, I did f**k with the slight gritty moments, too.

OVERALL RATING

(D-)

Save your time; this album disappoints with its low audio quality and random verses that lack appeal. Also, NBA YoungBoy’s performances feel a bit lackluster. Some bright spots come from Lil Dump and Vontina, but that’s about it.
