Quavo & Rich The Kid Connect For “Real One”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Quavo is back in his element, returning to more upbeat tracks after the emotional Rocket Power release a few months back. It appears he’s focused on delivering nothing but hits. Starting the year with the explosive “RNS,” followed by the boastful “Himothy,” Quavo’s latest offering, “Real One,” featuring Rich The Kid, continues this trend of big-time bangers.

“Real One” finds Quavo and Rich The Kid embracing a lifestyle as wild as the kids hanging around Capital One Arena in DC. Their lyrics delve into encounters with women who can efficiently handle tasks in under four minutes, their late-night escapades, and their willingness to indulge in violence. However, amidst their exploits, there’s a notable absence of any mention of taking their partners to church.

For me, this track’s standout feature is its frenetic pace. “Real One” is propelled by a booming, frantic beat that feels like the perfect accompaniment to a high-speed chase scene. Quavo and Rich The Kid effortlessly match the beat’s tempo, maintaining control and swagger throughout. Overall, I appreciate the seamless back-and-forth dynamic between the two artists.

Quavo and Rich The Kid want chicks that do s**t strange for pieces of change.
