Movie Night Gets “Addicted”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

New York City-based trio Movie Night, formerly known as Running Lights, brings a fusion of pop and rock to the scene. Comprising Mike Squillante on guitar and vocals, Nick Squillante on keys, and Steve Ranellone on drums, Movie Night has made significant strides in their career. Collaborations with Grammy-nominated multi-platinum producer William Wiik Larsen and Florida Georgia Line highlight their notable achievements. The band has garnered attention with sold-out performances at various NYC venues, including Rockwood Music Hall and Gramercy Theatre. Recently, they embarked on a college tour across the US, sharing stages with renowned artists like American Authors, Offset, and Tai Verdes. Movie Night’s latest release, the alternative single “Addicted,” showcases their evolving sound and musical prowess.

With a dynamic fusion of vibrant instrumentals and captivating melodies, “Addicted” delivers an electrifying alt-rock experience that perfectly captures the essence of its angsty theme. Lyrics such as “Now I’m high on the thought of you, Crawling up onto the foot of my bed” and “Can’t predict an addiction affliction, Now I’m wishing it was fictional, fixable, I’m miserable ’cause I can’t quit” vividly depict a tale of obsession and longing. Enhanced by commanding vocals and enticing electro-pop elements, Movie Night presents an irresistible gem that delves deep into the allure of temptation. So turn up the volume, hit play, and let yourself get “Addicted.”
