3. Clarity
Is there anything more important than having clarity in your life?
In “Clarity,” 24kGoldn talks about the improvements he plans to make to reach a point where he feels confident in his decision-making. The instrumentation that drives the song has a nice tempo, but simultaneously, these dramatic elements. As for 24KGoldn, he bounces between a few singing styles; some that are on the emotional side, some that are on the edgy side, and some that feel a little more laidback. All in all, I think “Clarity” is a dynamic, soul-clenching hit.
2. Dog House (Ft. Leikeli47)
When I say growth as an artist, this is what I’m talking about.
It’s fascinating to witness the artistic evolution of 24kGoldn from tracks like “mood” to “Dog House.” In the latter, he explores a more introspective and emotionally charged sound, showcasing his depth as a singer and his skill in captivating listeners with heartfelt vocals. Lyrically, the song delves into complex themes as 24kGoldn confronts his partner’s gaslighting behavior and lack of understanding. I’m very impressed by “Dog House.”
1. Good Intentions
Only someone who’s been through some serious s**t can relate to “Good Intentions.”
I think “Good Intentions” is 24kGoldn’s most powerful track yet. The song delves into themes of personal struggles, self-awareness, and the ramifications of fame. While 24k maintains a subtle melody throughout, there’s a raw authenticity in his delivery that complements the lyrical content and the atmospheric, mesmerizing beat that never fully unfolds. Fans expecting 24k’s signature bubbly hip-pop s**t should be aware that “Good Intentions” deviates from that style.

RGM RATING
(B)
It’s refreshing to witness an artist’s growth and evolution. It speaks volumes about their dedication to their artistry and their authenticity as individuals. Despite the massive success of “mood,” with over one billion streams, 24kGoldn could have easily stuck to a formulaic approach or replicated similar sounds. Instead, he chose to release a project like Growing Pains, which is characterized by its heartfelt themes, musical diversity, and avoidance of clichés. While still maintaining his trademark infectious melodies and vibrant energy, 24kGoldn ventures into deeper territory, showcasing his willingness to explore new sounds and themes. More than anything, I respect the hell out of this project.
