JIRI Says “Let Me Know”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I am always going to unapologetically prop up hip-hop artists that give me old-school vibes in their music. It’s just something y’all are going to have to deal with. That said, the latest artist who gives me these feels is JIRI. Not only does he dash through authentic hip-hop beats in his music, but he also has that signature sound that will made you fall in love with rappers such as Lupe Fiasco and J. Cole. Some of JIRI’s biggest singles are “Offended” and “Leap of Faith.” His latest single, “Let Me Know,” is just as good as those singles.

I mentioned Lupe Fiasco in the first paragraph, and it’s probably because I hear a lot of “Paris, Tokyo” in this track. Just like that standout track from The Cool, “Let Me Know” boasts a smooth, boom bap beat that’s sure to lower your blood pressure. The song also features steady flows, infectious melodies, and a perfect mix of aggressive and gentle tones. But what truly shines are the lyrics. In his first verse and the chorus, JIRI talks about the relaxed lifestyle he can offer his partner, while in the second verse, he delves into the challenges they’ve faced together. Overall, “Let Me Know” feels like some of the most authentic relationship-inspired s**t out there today.
