I’ve been telling people for years that Sean Kingston has a thug side. Before making teen bop tracks like “Beautiful Girls,” he was in the slums doing crazy business. That’s why I wasn’t surprised when he recently got arrested for grand theft, identity theft, and alleged fraud charges.
Another artist who has faced his fair share of legal issues is NBA YoungBoy. In fact, the Baton Rouge rapper is currently facing 63 charges for various offenses. Recently, Kingston and NBA YoungBoy collaborated on a new single called “Why Oh Why.”
More Fire: NBA YoungBoy Says He’s A “Steppa”
In “Why Oh Why,” Sean Kingston and NBA YoungBoy discuss riding around in Bentleys while strapped up, getting into altercations, and overcoming adversity. They also dismiss those who are praying for their downfalls.
As crazy as it sounds, Sean Kingston and NBA YoungBoy’s completely different styles mesh well in this track. While I’m not a fan of Kingston’s vocals (I’m 1000 percent not feeling his Jamaican accent these days), I have to admit that both artists convey raw passion effectively. Their styles also blend nicely over the emotional production, creating a surprisingly cohesive track.
Sean Kingston is such a legend, man.
