Breadcouch & Curtisy Are “Tired”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Like me, Breadcouch and Curtisy are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

In many ways, Breadcouch and Curtisy share common ground, despite hailing from different countries. Both artists fall under the alternative hip-hop umbrella and showcase rap styles that are somewhat assertive and bold.

Given their similarities, it’s no surprise that Breadcouch and Curtisy exhibit outstanding chemistry in “Tired.”

“Tired” emerges as the ultimate stoner anthem (though Breadcouch and Curtisy might not readily admit to it). Breadcouch delves into feelings of financial inadequacy and rolling up spliffs in his spare time, while Curtisy discusses slacking off, driven by the belief that he has better things to do—like getting high.

While Breadcouch and Curtisy’s lyrics might not resonate with everyone, there’s a definite appeal to the song’s style. The slick production channels vibes reminiscent of buddy-cop movies from the ’80s (I can’t help but picture Dan Akroyd and John Belushi in the suits from The Blues Brothers as the song plays). Breadcouch delivers confident, somewhat lethargic raps, while Curtisy adopts a fully laidback tone. Together, they effortlessly glide over the beat.

Shoutout to all the tired people in the world.
